Reasons to study Environmental Science
You will acquire a deep scientific understanding of current issues such as global warming, extinction, alternative energies and resources

What you will study
Year 1 – Ecology balances and sustainable interaction with human factors, natural physical processes and effects of human activity, research methodology leading to practical activities.
Year 2 – Energy resources, pollution, biological resources, sustainability principles and their applications. Minimum of two days of practical fieldwork and 12 mandatory lab practicals.
Entry Criteria
at least GCSE double science grade 5, Maths and English grade 5
specific interest in both environmental and sustainability issues
interest in taking part in both fieldwork and laboratory practical activities
How you will be assessed
Up to three, three-hour exams, 15% dedicated to practical assessment (to be confirmed).

Fieldwork is a key component of the Environmental Science course. You will visit various locations around the UK, investigating key environmental challenges. Visits to universities that offer Environmental Science.

An environmental degree at one of 63 universities including Manchester, Liverpool, LJMU, Hope, Lancaster, UCLAN and Edge Hill. Also degrees in Geography, Geology, Climatology, other Earth Sciences, as well as Biology, Ecology and even Engineering. Career paths include the Environmental Agency, land conservation, land management and many others.
